came to the disciples and found them sleeping.
And he said toe Peter, so you could not watch with me an hour?
Sermon Title: Watch and Pray! Stay Woke!
Point 1: You have to stay woke – vs. 40 could you not watch with me one hour
Point 2:
You have to stay woke and pray Vs 41 watch and pray
Philippians 4:6 - 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every
thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made
known unto God.
1 Tim 2:1-3 1First of all, then, I urge that petitions,
prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered on behalf of all men 2for
kings and all those in authority, so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives
in all godliness and dignity. 3This is good and pleasing in the sight of God
our Savior,
Point 3: What do we do now that some are coming to
take Jesus? Vs. 51-53 - 51 With that, one
of Jesus’ companions reached for his sword, drew it out and struck the servant
of the high priest, cutting off his ear. 52 “Put your sword back in its place,”
Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. 53 Do you
think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more
than twelve legions of angels?
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,”
declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you
hope and a future.
