Point 1: Ingredients we Don’t KnowJames 4:13-15 - 13 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”

Point 1: Turn your past into a passage way into your future. vs. 39(b) …” He told me everything I ever did.”

Point 2: Turn your story into a barrier breakerVs. 40 “So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them…

Point 3: Turn your story into a town changer vs. 42 They said to the woman, “We know longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of world.”

1. Look for someone this week to tell your testimony to 
2. Invite someone to Easter service/The Encounter Friday
3. Ask yourself the question do you have a story to tell?

iWorship
Definition:
1. WHAT - Preoccupation with somebody or something bestowing worth or value [words, deeds, substance-ie…money items] upon them that is equal to or exceeds the value of oneself.

2. WHY -  John 4:24 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

3. WHERE/HOW – John 4:20-24 20 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.”
21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

8.The Power Praise…
a. It Gets God’s Attention (Psalm 22:3)
b. It Puts Our Focus Back On Jesus (Psalm 35:28
c. Praise Makes the Enemy Flee (2 Chronicles 20:22)

9 Praise IS NOT a fast song that makes you shout

- The Vehicle of Praise is…
a. The Preparation (Psalm 100:4)
b. The Anticipation (Psalm 84:10)
c. The Transition This is where most people start shrinking back.
d. Worship is My daily obedience to God; a Posture of the heart; a sacrifice; Love; Allowing him to have LORDSHIP Over every area of your life
e. Identify your weak areas and tell God about them
f. Enter into His gates (foyer) with Thanksgiving
g. Enter into His courts (sanctuary) with Praise

10. God will make it do what it do, but you have to do your part
2 Chronicles 20:1-3 6, 14a, 24 After this, the Moabites and Ammonites with some of the Meunites[a] came to wage war against Jehoshaphat. 2 Some people came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army is coming against you from Edom,[b] from the other side of the Dead Sea. iWorship: The Garment of Praise

Sermon Text: Isaiah 61: 3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit despair.

Point 1: I need to change my emotional clothing vs. 3 and for those who grieve in Zion…instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning…instead of a spirit of despair.

Point 2: God’s got your garments of praise vs 3 [put on] a garment of praise

Point 3: Clothing is not just what you wear but what you say and who you are vs. 10 I delight greatly in the Lord; In order to

Point 4: vs 10 …For he has clothed me with garments of salvation

Life Application:
1.  I want to change my sadness to gladness accept Christ
2.   I want to change my sadness to gladness consider Christ
3.  I want to change my sadness to gladness I need prayer

Pericope: 2 Chronicles 20:1- 3, 6, 14a ,24  After this, the Moabites and Ammonites with some of the Meunites came to wage war against Jehoshaphat. 2 Some people came and told Jehoshaphat "A vast army is coming against you from Edom from the other side of the Dead sea. 3 Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah. 6 and said; "Lord, the God of our ancestors " are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you.  14a   Then the spirit of the Lord came on Jahaziel son of Zechariah, 24 When the of Judah came to the place that overlooks the desert and looked toward the vast army, they saw only dead bodies lying on the ground; no one had escaped.
Scripture Text: 2 Chronicles 20: 15 He said Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army.  For the battle is not yours, but God's.

Here are 3 things that we can do to prepare ourselves for worship;
1. Pray that God will open up your heart to hear him
2. Think about His sacrifice on the cross for you
3. Begin to focus on His goodness toward you


Psalms 100 says Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God.  It is he who made us, and we are his we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.  For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Sermon Text: Genesis 3: 11 …Who told you that you were naked; so I hid.

Sermon Title: iWorship—But Naked!

Point 1: Recognize where you are Genesis 2: 8 Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and their he put the man he had formed
Genesis 28: 10 – 18
Vs. 20  then he made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear (21) so that I return safely to my father’s house, then the Lord will be my God and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house, (22) and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth.”

Point 2: Recognize what Satan is trying to do to your worship vs 1 …did God really say you must not say, “You must not eat from any tree in the garden?”
·       Deception [vs 4 you will not surely die]
·       Distraction [from the main thing]
·       Destruction [of your relationship with God]
·       Genesis 2: 25 The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame. To Genesis 3: 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. Vs 11 …Who told you that you were naked…


Point 3: Run to worship God any how vs. 8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
·       Create an atmosphere of worship
·       Conviction comes
·       Conversion happens
·       Covers you

Life Application:
1.  Whatever is conflicting you about worshipping God confess it
2.  Determine I will be consistent in my public worship between now and Easter
3.  Decide now you are going to live a lifestyle of worship [obedience]

Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
