THE PURPOSE OF GIVING: 12 BENEFITS 2 GIVING

1.   GIVING/GENEROSITY ____________ ____________
“You will be glorifying God through your generous gifts.  Your generosity will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ.”  2 Corinthians 9:13 (NLT)
“Whoever is generous to the needy honors God.”  Proverb 14:31 (ESV)
2.   GIVING/GENEROSITY DRAWS ME ____________TO ____________
 “The purpose of tithing is to teach you to always put God first in your lives.” Deuteronomy 14:23b (LB)
“Your heart will be wherever your treasure is.”  Matthew 6:21 (NCV)
3. GIVING/GENEROSITY MAKES ME ____________________________________

All I Do is Win

Sermon Title: All I Do Is Win



Point 1: Believe in themselves.  They are Winners

Judges 6:15 15 “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.”

Ephesians 3:20 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,

1 John 4:4-  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Ephesians 3:20  Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,


Point 2: Winners think differently Proverbs 23:6 6“Do not eat the food of a begrudging host,

Romans 12:2 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.





Point 3: Winners use the word as their weapon of choice Hebrews 4: 12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Psalm 119:13 13 With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth.

Point 4: Winners don’t quit 1 Corinthians 15:58 58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.


Point 5: Winners believe God will help them win

2 Chronicles 20:20b 20b As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.”

2 Chronicles 20:15b 15bThis is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.

GPS pt 4-Trust Him for More

Sermon Text:  2 Kings 13:19 - 19 The man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have struck the ground five or six times; then you would have defeated Aram and completely destroyed it. But now you will defeat it only three times.”

Sermon Title:  GPS Pt 4 – Trust Him for More

Point 1:  Pull the bow and arrow back vs. 16 Take the bow in your hands, “he said to the king of Israel. When he had taken it, Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands.

Point 2: Realize opportunities sometimes are disguised as certain defeat.  vs 17 …The Lords arrows of victory…

Point 3: Follow the instructions of the man of God with faith not fear. vs. 16 Take the bow in your hands, “he said to the king of Israel. When he had taken it, Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands. (17) Open the East window [toward Syria]…

Point 4:  Use all your arrows for him. Vs. 18 Then he said take the arrows and the king took them. Elisha told him. “Strike the ground the ground. “He struck it three times and stopped. (19) The man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have struck the ground five or six times; then you would have defeated Aram and completely destroyed it. But now you will only defeat it three times.” 

Life Application 
1. Let God pull you back, so he can shoot you into 2018
2. Trust God with what you have in 2018 
3. Obey God’s instructions in 2018

GPS - God Prospering for Success

Sermon Title: GPS: God Prospering For Success

Genesis 14:18-20 - 18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, 19 and he blessed Abram, saying, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High,
    Creator of heaven and earth. 20 And praise be to God Most High,  who delivered your enemies into your hand.” Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.
1.    Abraham was compelled to tithe by what God did in his life.
2.     His tithe predated the law because relationship isn't legal. 

Leviticus 27:30 - 30 “‘A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.
1.   Our tithe is holy
2.  Our tithe doesn't belong to us. 

2 Corinthians 9: 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
1.  Relationships should be cheerful
2.  Relationships that are drudgery don't last

Galatians 6:7 - 7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
Genesis 8:22 - “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night
will never cease.”
1.  Relationships are cyclical.
2.  God is into you for life.

1.  Start your relationship with God through Jesus Christ
