Hold On!!

Sermon Text:Hebrews 10: 23 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

Promise 1: God promises us his presenceHebrews 13: 5 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
1.Watch where you take him Psalms 139: 7, 8 Msg …is there anyplace I can go to avoid your Spirit [You]? If I go underground [hell] you are there…
2.Satan can’t get to you unless he comes through God Psalms 17: 8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
3.The delight of God’s presence Ephesians 3: 9 Amp  …Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
Promise 2: God promised us his provisionPhil 4: 19 19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
1.You were designed for abundance. John 10: 10b…I came that you might have life more abundantly…
2.Your treasure is your heart.Matthew 6:21 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
3.Return to your lover. Mal 3:7 7 Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty. “But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’
Promise 3: God promised us purpose.Jeremiah 29:11 1 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
1.What are you good at? 1 Cor 12: NLT A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.
2.Where are you serving? Rom 14: 18 NLT If you serve Christ…you will please God, and others will approve of you, too. Mark 10: 45 NLT For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others 
3.Who are you connected to? Heb 10: 24: Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.

Promise 4: God promised us His powerActs 1: 88 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
1.Why are you weak? 2 Corinthians 12: 9 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me
2.You can’t be overwhelmed. 1 Corinthians 10:13 13 No temptation[a] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[b] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Promise 5: God promised us his protectionPsalm 231 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
1.You have ministry angels. Hebrews 1: 14 14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
2.Your enemy is God’s enemy. Psalm 27:2 When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall.

Promise 6: God promised us His peacePhil 4: 6-7 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
1.Why are you worried? Isaiah 26: 3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
2.What’s on your mind? Phil 4: 8 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Promise 7: God promised us he would pardonus. Romans 10:9 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
1.You don’t have to live under condemnation. Romans 8: 1-2 8 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
2.You can get rid of the weight of sin. 1 John 1: 9 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
3.Sin is a barrier for all the promises. Rom 6: 23 Msg But now that you’ve found you don’t have to listen to sin tell you what to do, and have discovered the delight of listening to God telling you, what a surprise! A whole, healed, put-together life right now, with more and more of life on the way! Work hard for sin your whole life and your pension is death. But God’s gift is real life, eternal life, delivered by Jesus, our Master.
