Difference Maker Part 2

PericopeEzekiel 37:1-10 37 The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. 3 He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.”
4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath[a] enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’” 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them. 9 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’” 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.
Sermon Text: Ezekiel 39:9-10 9 “‘Then those who live in the towns of Israel will go out and use the weapons for fuel and burn them up—the small and large shields, the bows and arrows, the war clubs and spears. For seven years they will use them for fuel. 10 They will not need to gather wood from the fields or cut it from the forests, because they will use the weapons for fuel. And they will plunder those who plundered them and loot those who looted them, declares the Sovereign Lord.
Sermon Title: The Difference Maker Pt 2 Prophesy
ReviewSunday we established that your life is a prophetic utterance.  We established that based on Ezekiel obeying God to speak to the dry bones, His obedience brought life to a dry, disoriented, disjointed situation.  The Valley of Dry bones was an analogy of the motion flight and sin filled lives.
The mere voice of Ezekiel coupled with the Spirit of God changed all that.  We established that is what you and I are called to do.  We are supposed to step into any room and shift the atmosphere by our lives being a prophetic utterance.  Our words flow from our lives.  Out of the heart the mouth speaks. Matthew 12:34 34 You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
So this afternoon I want to continue to empower you to be a Difference Maker by grounding you into more word.  Are you ready to go deeper? Let’s go deeper!
1. Words and breath have powerbecause they are the delivery systemGen 1:3a, 6a, 9a, 11a 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 6a And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water. 9a And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear, 11a Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it.
2. You have been given this power. Gen 2:7a, 3:8a 7 Then the Lord God formed a man, 3:8 8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day.
3. Words are mace with meaning and powerLuke 10:19
19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
4. God’s word can either be meaningfulnoise or meaningless noise.  1 Thessalonians 4:12 12 so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.
5. Your life are words in actionsLiving Epistle1 Corinthians 3: 2-3 2 You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. 3 You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
6. God is depending on you to make meaningful noise with your life/words. Acts 2: 11b Acts 2:11 11 we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!”
7. You are in the Valley of dry Bones now speakActs 2:10 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome
