Sermon Title:  You’ve Got the Power!
Point 1:  Jesus Commissioned us for powerJohn 20:21-2221 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
Point 2:  Jesus Commanded us…to be baptized or clothed in the Holy SpiritActs 1:4-5 (4) On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. (5) For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
Point 3:  Jesus has a cause for us… What's the cause?  They and we need power to carry out Jesus work.  Acts 1:8 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
The cause of Christ:
a)  Witness (martyrs)
b)  Turn the world upside down (acts…)
c)  Grow the kingdom
d)  Defeat the enemy – Mark 16:17-18
Four accounts of don't go until you get the power:
a)  Philip – Acts 8:12-13 - 12 But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13 Simon himself believed and was baptized. And he followed Philip everywhere, astonished by the great signs and miracles he saw.
b)  Saul – Acts 9:15 -15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.
c)  Peter – Acts 10:45-48 - 45 The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles. 46 For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God.
Then Peter said, 47 “Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.” 48 So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days.
d)  Ephesians – Acts 19:2 - 2 and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
Point 4:  Jesus wants us to ComplyActs 2:1 - 2 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
If you are already a LifeChanger then I encourage you to do two things:
1.  Ask yourself have you been baptized in the Holy Spirit Charismatic…gift
2.  If not ask for the overshadowing satiation in excess baptism
3.  If you do have the baptism of the Holy Spirit start operating in His power…
How do you know you received the baptism of the Holy Spirit:
1.  Acts 2: 4 says filled Greek word saturate/excess unexplainable moment of sensing the presence of God
2.  You may or may not speak in tongues, tongues is a gift not evidence
3.  Power to produce full grown 9 fruits of the Spirits
Point 5:  There are Consequencesto having power… Acts 2:4, 8, 11 - 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. 8 Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? 11 (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!”
1.  The whole world is witnessed to
2.  They used the language of the world to talk to the world
3.  The word is given just like the first Pentecost Moses brought the Ten Commandments
