Minister Dorsey - Wednesday Bible Study - Waiting to Wail

Sermon Title:   Waiting to Wail
Sermon Text Ex 1:15-21
Little History:  As we are looking at Pentecost - which means 50 – It is sometimes referred to as the  "Birthday of the Church" because in the NT in the Book of Acts Ch 2,  it was when the Holy Spirit fell on the disciples and 120 other believers.  They became the first fruits of the first church which is what Pentecost was about.
So, in NT in Acts Chapter 1:4  before his ascension Jesus gives the disciples a command, he tells them they are not to leave Jerusalem -- Basically they are to WAIT for the gift the father had promised
Exodus 1:15-21
POINT 1 The Greater Good of God
v.17 The midwives  however feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt told them to do
Sometimes when waiting and to be able to wail we must push back the worlds agenda to be able to push forward Gods plan.
God chose 2 women to protect the continuation of the species knowing life is in the seed of the man.
POINT 2  The SEED:  Mystery and history of man  v.20
v.20 God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous
Everything is contingent on the seed and these 2 women were chosen to protect it, and even nurture it to propel it into it's destiny because we know in the very next chapter Moses the DELIVERER is born!
POINT 3. The Bride
We, men and women,  are the Bride of Christ and it’s going to take the Bride to usher in this last move.  Everyone must be in their position.  Men and women Side-by-side!  We know the blessing comes when we are on one accord, unified in purpose, same heart same mind.  Respecting and loving each other in our relationships and in the community of God.
Scripture tells us in Acts
Acts 2:1 NIV   When the day of Pentecost came they were  all together in one place
KJV  And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.    To fill completely AND To complete entirely, to be fulfilled of time
Like Shiphra and Puah – be on one accord and defy the world’s agenda to propel God’s agenda.  Sometimes we have to go back to the beginning.  The time when we first accepted Christ.  Repent for not loving him first completely and totally.  Making him the apple of our eye – then loving each other in our relationships and in our community.

APPLICATION
Oh how I desire to experience that fervency that I had in the beginning
There's an old song that often fall on my heart and preparing this sermon, God dropped it on my heart again. It's called take me back and it was written by Andrea Crouch.  some of the lyrics are:

Take me back, take me back dear Lord,
to the place where I first received you.
Take me back, take me back dear Lord where I FIRST believed
