The Stranger In The Manger

Sermon Text: Luke 2:7-20
Sermon Title: MTM: The Stranger In The Manger
Point I: The Stranger Is The Creator.
John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.

c.   The Becoming. John 1:14
"And the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us… "
Then Jesus the creator became flesh
Point 2: The Stranger Is The Christ.
The word Christ means "the anointed". It is the Greek translation of the Hebrew word "Messiah" and appears 514 times in the N.T.
Luke 4:16-21
a.  He is anointed prophet.
Deut 18:18-19
b.  b. He is anointed priest.
As the Priest, he offered his own blood for the sins of the people.
Heb 7:26-27 Heb 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
Heb 7:26 For such a high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners and made higher than the heavens;

Point 3: The Stranger In The Manger Is The Conqueror.
a. He was resurrected.
Having died on the cross, he was laid in a tomb which was covered by a stone. Yet death could not hold the King, he had the power to lay down his life, and the power to take it again.
Heb 2:14 For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
b. He will return.
c. He will reign.
