12 Reasons Why the MANGER Matters


Sermon Text: Luke 2: 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
Sermon Title: 12 Reasons Why the Manger Matters
1.  Manifestation of Prophesy Micah 5:2 But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel.
2.  God is Accessible Luke 2: 8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks by night.
3.  God Performs Miracles Luke 2: 15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

6.  Mediator 1 Tim 2: 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 6. Who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony given in its proper time.
7.  A Sign to Follow Luke 2: 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger
8.  Become a Message Luke 2: 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child,
9.  Penetrate Poverty Luke 2: 22 – 24 When the time of their purification according to the Law of Moses had been completed, Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord’) and to sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: “a pair of doves or two young pigeons.”
10.              Become the Bread of Life John 6: 35 The Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes me will never be thirsty
11.              Requires no Prerequisite Matt 11: 28, 30 Come to me all you are weary and burden and I will give you rest. 30. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
