The Power of an Invitation
John 4:27-30 27 Just then his disciples returned and were
surprised to find him talking with a woman. But no one asked, “What do you
want?” or “Why are you talking with her?”
28 Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the
town and said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever
did. Could this be the Messiah?” 30 They came out of the town and made their
way toward him.
1. She was
first invited by __________ to drink and __________ __________ __________ . vs. 14 but whoever drinks the water I give
them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a
spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
After one sip of Jesus she could not keep the drink to herself.

the last time you invited? (all answer)
· Have you
invited people into a relationship with you first? Why/how? (anyone in the room that has done
this, discuss their why/how – 2 minutes)
· What can
New Life/you do to use the power of invitation this week, this year? (brainstorm
things and record them)

Have to be 2x2 at all times; No confrontation with
anyone. If they don’t’ want it keep
moving

If “no solicitation” is posted anywhere do not approach
house

Do not go into anyone’s home; If people in the
yard/porch – put it in their hand; All conversation brief
·
For ease of coverage, park your car at a spot in the
neighborhood – go up one side with door hangers, cross the street walk back
down the other side of the street and then move the car to the next large
section and repeat.
