Luke
23:46 - Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit
my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.

into your hands I commit my spirit” When
he had said this he breathed his last.

Cor. 15:54b-57 - Death has been swallowed up in victory.”[h] 55 “Where, O
death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”[i] 56 The sting of death is sin, and the power
of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory
through our Lord Jesus Christ.
When Jesus defeated death
you are:
a) Free from fear
b) My future finalized in eternity
2. Every comma has a cause vs. 46
Eph.
4:8-10 - 8 This is why it[a] says:
“When
he ascended on high, he took many
captives and gave gifts to his
people.”[b] 9 (What does “he ascended”
mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions[c]? 10
He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the
heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.);
Col.
2:15 - 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made
a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.[a]
a)
Satan has no more
power over you.
b)
Satan can only deceive
you about God’s word…”did God really say.”
3. After the pause
comes our cause.
John
20:19-22 - 19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples
were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus
came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”
20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side.
The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. 21 Again Jesus said,
“Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending
you.” 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive
the Holy Spirit.
Now Jesus gives us his breath to:
a) Serve others.
b) Have power over sin
c) Praise his name.
d) Return to our dominion status like we had
with the first breath we got
