The Pentecost Experience Pt 1

Sermon Text: Acts 1: 5 For John baptized  with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit
Sermon Title: The Pentecost Experience Pt 1
Point 1: Person of the Holy Spirit Matthew 3: 16, 17…At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him…This my Son…
There are three levels of relationship. Physical. Emotional. Spiritual. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 13: 14 The Message bible The amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you. The Holy Spirit is gentle and not forceful. Therefore you cannot grieve the Holy Spirit Ephesians 4: 30
The Holy Spirit is soft spoken 1 Kings 19: 12, 13…And after the fire there came a whisper…Then a voice said to him, "What are you doing here, Elijah."
The Holy Spirit has two love languages… Acts 1: 4…"Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift [the Holy Spirit] my Father promised…Psalms 27: 8 AMP You have said, Seek My face [inquire for and require My presence as your vital need]. My heart says to You, Your face (Your presence), Lord, will I seek.
Psalms 145: 1 - 3 I will extol you, my God and King, and bless you name forever and ever. Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.

Point 2: Purpose of the Holy Spirit  Acts 1: 8b…and you will be witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." The Holy Spirit has multiple purposes.
Jesus also says the Holy Spirit will lead or guide us into all truth. John 14: 26…will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
Jesus says the Holy Spirit is our comforter who comes along side of us. John 14: 16…He will give you another Helper/Comforter/Counselor The Greek word for another means another helper just like me NOT a different helper.

Point 3: The Place of the Holy Spirit 1: 4, 8 - 4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Point 4: Power of the Holy Spirit Acts 1: 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you…
The Greek word that is used for power in the text Dynamite...
Ephesians 3: 20 He will do exceedingly abundantly by the power that works within you. John 4: 4… put it another way for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
Life Application:
1.   Become…on the third level of relationship
2.   Submit yourself…
3.   Come to the…

4.  Stop acting…
