Sermon Title: OJHS: Courage for the Journey Pt 2
Point 1: Jonathan’s Journey 1 Samuel 14: 6 Jonathan said to his young armor-bearer, “Come, let’s go over to the outpost of those uncircumcised fellows. Perhaps the Lord will act in our behalf… In this text we are made privy to the private battle plans of two people; Jonathan and his unnamed armor-bearer.
When Jonathan and his armor bearer were not about to live their lives thinking they could’ve defeated an army by themselves. They moved and look at what happened. Vs. 13 Jonathan climbed up, using his hands and feet, with his armor-bearer right behind him. The Philistines fell before Jonathan, and his armor bearer followed  and killed behind him. Vs. In that first attack Jonathan and his armor bearer killed some twenty men in an area of about half an acre. Vs. 15 Then panic struck the whole army—those in the camp and field, and those in the outposts and raiding parties—and the ground shook. It was panic sent by God. Vs. 20 Then Saul and all his men assembled and went to the battle. They found the Philistines in total confusion, striking each other with their swords.
Point 2: New Life we too are looking at opportunity. 2 Corinthians 3: 2 – 3NLT The only letter of recommendation we need is you yourselves. Your lives are a letter written in or hearts; everyone can read it and recognize our good work among you. This “letter” is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts.
