7
Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and
have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord
Almighty.
“But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’

Genesis 14:18-20 - 18 Then Melchizedek
king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, 19 and
he blessed Abram, saying, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High,
Creator of heaven and earth. 20 And praise be to God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand.”
Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.
1. Abraham was compelled to tithe
by what God did in his life.
2. His tithe predated the law
because relationship isn't legal.
Leviticus 27:30 - 30 “‘A tithe of
everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees,
belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.
1. Our
tithe is holy
2. Our tithe doesn't belong to
us.
2 Corinthians 9: 7
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not
reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
1. Relationships should be cheerful
2. Relationships that are drudgery
don't last
Galatians 6:7 - 7 Do not be deceived: God
cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
Genesis 8:22 - “As long as the earth
endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night
will never cease.”
1. Relationships are cyclical.
2. God is into you for life.
Life Application
1. Start your relationship with God through
Jesus Christ
2. Increase your trust for 2018
