If You Give Him Thanks He will Give You Joy

Sermon Text: Psalms 34: 1I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Sermon Title: If You Give Him Thanks He Will Give You Joy
Point 1: He will        you David gave God thanks in the midst of him making mistakes that he openly admits and running for his life. He said as much in vs. 6 This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. Psalms 23: 3a …he restores my soul.
Point 2: He will    you     Ephesians 3: 20 Now unto him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we could ask by the power that works within us.
Point 3: He will    you     David was in desperate need of some joy when he was on the run from his enemies. You know things are bad when you pretend you are insane. What he needs is not insanity but some joy. He said in vs. 10 you will lack no good thing. I believe one of those good things was some much needed joy. For the joy of the Lord is your strength...
Ephesians 5: 20…always give thanks to God the Father foreverything…;
Point 4: He will     you vs. 4b he delivered me from all my fears…17 he delivers them from all their troubles 18b…[he] saves those who are crushed in spirit. 19a A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.
Conclusion/Life Application: The Pilgrims knew it. AbrahamLincoln knew it. David knew it. We know it. When you give God praise/thanksgiving there is a transaction…He gives us restoration, more, joy, and deliverance. Can we give him some praise on this Thanksgiving Eve!
