Two Steps Forward and One Step Backwards

Sermon Text:  Genesis 16: 8(a) And he said, “Hagar, slave of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?”

Vs. 10b - “I will surely multiply your offspring so that they cannot be numbered for multitude.” 

vs 9(b) Go back to your mistress and submit to her.”   

1:  Realize you can’t run away from your problems

vs 8 8 And he said, “Hagar, slave of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?”. 

2:  Return and Repair – vs. 9 9 Then the angel of the Lord told her, “Go back to your mistress and submit to her.”

3:  Receive what God has for you - vs 10 10 The angel added, “I will increase your descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count.”

Gen 21:14,17,18 14 Early the next morning Abraham took some food and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar. He set them on her shoulders and then sent her off with the boy. She went on her way and wandered in the Desert of Beersheba. 17 God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. 18 Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.”

Life Application:

1. To the best of your ability…clear up your past so you can focus on your future.

2. No one can… stop your progress but you

3. Operate… in the gift of goodbye and greet your future
