Sermon Title: The Worth of Worship

Point 1: When it comes to your salvation your praise should be passionate

Romans 7:25 Paul says “THANKS BE TO GOD— through Jesus Christ our Lord!”

But THANKS BE TO GOD, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.” 2 Corinthians 2:14

Point 2: The person of our praise is the password to our worship “Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.” Ac 22:16

Point 3: The purpose of our praise  "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.” Mt 6:19-20

Point 4: Passionate praise stats with our personal relationship and leads us to worship Luke 7: 45

Luke 7:36-47 People who have been forgiven little, love little. People who have been forgiven little, aren’t very thankful. People who have been forgiven little aren’t really excited about Jesus, because that was the reason Jesus came – to forgive their sins

Point 1: Thanks leads to worship vs. 16 He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him--and he was a Samaritan

Psalms 150 declares let everything that has breath praise the Lord. 

Point 2: Worship leads to a word for living vs. 19a Then he said to him rise up…

2 Kings 3: 15 But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him. And he said thus said the Lord…

Point 3: Jesus expects us to worship vs. 17, 18 Jesus asked, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? (18) Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?"

Point 4: Everyone needs to have a Samaritan worship vs. 16 16 He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him--and he was a Samaritan

Point 5: Worship hits the reset button in your life vs. 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

Point 1: Thanks will change your direction vs. 15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice.

Point 2: Thanks open up doors vs. 14 When he saw them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed.

Point 3: Thanks separate you from the pack vs. 15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice.

Point 4: Thanks draws you closer to Jesus vs. 16 He threw himself at Jesus feet and thanked him--and he was a Samaritan.

Point 5: Thanks makes room for more vs. 19 Then he said to him, "Rise and go; your faith has made you well

Point 1: Complaining DELIVERS you into the hands of an angry God Numbers 11:1 - Now the people complained about their hardships in the hearing of the Lord, and when he heard them his anger was aroused. Then fire from the Lord burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.

Point 2:  Complaining DENIES God’s Sovereignty Exodus 5: 2 - 2 Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord, that I should obey him and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord and I will not let Israel go.”

Point 3: Complaining DISRUPTS unity in the body of Christ.
Numbers 13:30-33 - 30 Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.” 31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” 32 And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. 33 We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”

Point 4: Complaining DISCREDITS Christian testimony  Acts 16: 25 - 25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

Point 5:  We have it so good & enjoy it so much lets thank Him Just Do It 1 Thessalonians 5: 18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Sermon Text: 2 Kings 19: 2 - 2 So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say, “May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them.”

Sermon Title: A Parallel Life

Point 1: Don’t go into seclusion vs. 4 while he himself went a days journey into the desert. He came to a broom tree, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.”

Point 2: God will send you someone vs. 5b…All at once an angel touched him…

Point 3: God will sustain you vs. 5b, 6…Get up and eat…He looked around, and there by his head was a cake of bread baked over hot coals and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again. The angel of the Lord came back a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you.” So he got up and ate and drank. Strengthen by that food, he traveled forty days and forty nights…

Point 4: God will speak to you vs. 9, 13b - 9 There he went into a cave and spent the night.  And the word of the Lord came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

Point 5: God will give you a second chance vs. 15 The Lord said to him, “Go back the way you came, and go to the Desert of Damascus. When get there, anoint Hazael king over Aram…anoint Jehu son of Nimshi king over Israel, and anoint Elisha son Shephat…to succeed you as prophet

Point 5: God is a God of Outcomes vs. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
