Sermon Title: The King is Coming
Point 1: The angels got their Attention vs. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
• The first Mount Transfiguration Mark 9: 2
• The second one is in the upper room Acts 1: 9
• The third is when God lead the Children of Israel by a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night. Exodus 13: 21
Point 2: They were in Awe vs. 9, 13 An angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying…Glory to God…
Point 3: They turned their awe into Action vs. 15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord told us about.”
Point 4: They Assumed responsibility vs. 17 When they had seen him they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child,
Point 5: They Advanced God’s agenda vs. 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. Clearly what the shepherds did is now moving God agenda.
